Wormy's World - Characters - Snooker Ball Demon - #18

Snooker Ball Demon

Don't hit that ball! Too late, Frank and Dudly playing a combination of croquet and baseball manage to hit a home run and crack one of Wormy's stolen bowling balls. In a hiss of blue smoke the little demon appears.

  1. This is a "Snookerdemon," so named by Frank when he recalls this event in issue #77 (later that same day in the story, but 59 issues later to us!). It is also referred to as an "Etherial Demon" (sp) in the recap episode of issue #29.

Snooker is a billiards game played with 22 balls: 1 cue ball, 15 red balls and 6 "color" balls (of colors other than red). Dudly states here that the pool table has "16 identical balls" so Wormy may play a snooker variant with only 15 red balls plus the cue ball? I don't know much about snooker.

We know that Wormy originally stole 22 balls (the dwarves demand the return of their "two-and-twenty" balls in issue #11). After this one breaks, Wormy still has 21 left (six not on the pool table, evidently).
